Participation in a visiting session of Scientific and Technical Council of Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources

On June 9, 2022, a visiting session of Scientific and Technical Council of Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources (Rosprirodnadzor) was held in Nizhny Novgorod, chaired by Svetlana Zhulina, the Deputy Head of Rosprirodnadzor. Murat Kipkeev, Director for Investments, and Pavel Burov, Head of Project Department, took part in the event on behalf of Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Applied Technologies.

During the session the transition to new forms of supervision and formation of new environmental culture was discussed. Vladimir Chernyshev, Deputy Chairman of Scientific and Technical Council and Head of the Department of State Supervision in the Use and Protection of Water Bodies, Atmospheric Air and Land Supervision of Rosprirodnadzor, explained the essence of new amendments to the environmental legislation. The main task for the enterprises is to meet the legislative requirements.

Participants of the session discussed environmental protection and safety management system of LUKOIL, PJSC, reviewed the finalized draft Guidelines on compliance with the mandatory environmental protection requirements during onshore well construction at multicomponent composition hydrocarbon fields. They also discussed compliance with the requirements of Federal Law No. 7-FZ "On Environmental Protection" with regard to necessity of implementing remediation projects.

Scientific and Technical Council (STC) of Rosprirodnadzor is a permanent advisory body. Since 2019, Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Applied Technologies is a member of the working group for coordination of work on inventory of oil-contaminated territories and work on elimination of areas with cumulative environmental damage. 
NNIAT is involved in the work of STC as an organization with large experience in executing environmental projects. Experience in research, development and application of new technologies in the field of elimination of oil pollution and oil sludge treatment is useful to improve the effectiveness of environmental supervision.
