Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Applied Technologies was accepted as a member of the National Association for the Prevention and Response to Oil Spills (NASOPN)

On February 8, 2023, a regular meeting of the National Association for the Prevention and Response to Oil Spills (NASOPN) was held at the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Oboronpromekologiya of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The event was attended by members of the Board of Directors, as well as representatives of organizations that have applied for membership in the Association.

President of NASOPN Olga Mishina informed the audience about new projects in the field of environmental protection and assistance in the formation of a healthy lifestyle of the population, and also introduced new candidates for membership of the Association.

Based on the results of the discussion, the Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Applied Technologies was unanimously accepted as a member of the NASOS.

The National Association for the Prevention and Response to Oil Spills is a corporate non-profit organization whose goals are:
- comprehensive assistance to the development of the industry for the prevention and elimination of oil spills and oil products;
- raising the level of environmental culture in matters of ensuring industrial and environmental safety in oil production and processing of petroleum products;
- registration of the Association's initiatives into legal acts, their submission for consideration by the executive and legislative authorities of the Russian Federation;
- strengthening unity and solidarity in the industry;
- protection of the rights and interests of the members of the Association.

The Association for the Prevention and Response to Oil Spills is developing unified transparent rules that will minimize the problems of untimely localization and poor response to oil spills, disposal and processing of oil sludge, as well as the return of contaminated soils to a fertile state.
