Cleaning of two crude oil tanks VST-5000 of Orenburgneft OJSC

Under Contract No.626 dated May 27, the specialists of Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Applied Technologies performed tank cleaning operations to prepare crude oil tanks for diagnostics and hot works: VST-5000 (No.6) of Neftegorskaya Oil Stabilization Unit and VST-5000 (No.201) of Neftegorskaya Booster Pump Station of Orenburgneft OJSC.

Work process

According to actual measurements, the bottom sediment volume - paraffin and mechanical impurities in VST-5000m3 (No.6) of Neftegorskaya Oil Stabilization Unit amounted to 1058 m3, and in VST-5000 m3 (No.201) of Neftegorskaya Booster Pump Station - to 1580 m3. 

The task complicating factor was tank bottom corrosion perforation of VST-5000 m3 (No.6) of Neftegorskaya Oil Stabilization Unit and non-availability of steam in VST-5000 m3 (No.201) of Neftegorskaya Booster Pump Station.

Mobile steam unit of NNIAT LLC was used in course of work performance.  

Conclusions

Due to the implementation of NNIAT tank cleaning and sediment separation technology, the specialists of Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Applied Technologies successfully completed the task.

Client review

Bottom sediment organic components were pumped out, to be subsequently used by the Client as feedstock. The water was drained into the industrial sewage system. The mechanical impurities were removed from the tanks and transported for disposal. The tanks were prepared for diagnostics and hot works. 

The technology of oily sludge removal from tanks, developed and implemented by NNIAT LLC, is cost effective and safe.
