Baku pipeline heavy fuel oil served as the raw material, it was delivered via the Volga and Oka rivers. As one of the major battle front-line suppliers of fuel, the refinery was constantly bombarded during the war. Since the 1970s, the refinery has been connected to the oil pipelines, nowadays, it supplies 35% of the Moscow region with fuel. Currently, the refinery capacity is being modernized, thus, environmental performance has been already significantly enhanced.
